Box Score BLUEFIELD, Va. – The Concord University volleyball team won a non-conference match against Bluefield College 3-1 (25-21, 25-12, 21-25, 25-17) Thursday night at the Dome Gymnasium to move to 4-3 on the season.

All four of the Mountain Lion wins this season have come in four sets.

After a closely played first set in which the Concord was able to pull away for a four-point victory, the Mountain Lions ended the second set on an 18-7 run to end the second set and take control of the match. After the dominating performance in the second set, it appeared as though CU might collect its first 3-0 sweep of the season.

However, the Rams rebounded to win the third set as they led throughout the third game to force an additional set. But, Concord assured themselves they wouldn't need a fifth and deciding set by taking control of the fourth set and winning by eight points.

Senior middle hitter Sarah Jones registered double-digit kills with 11 while senior outside hitter Brytni Willis tallied nine kills. Freshman middle hitter Shea Hoffman hit an impressive .583 in the match to record eight kills.

Senior setter Nikki McMillan tallied a game-high 18 assists to go along with nine digs. Fellow senior setter Whytni Willis recorded a team-high three service aces while senior libero Amanda Walker posted a career-high 24 digs.

Freshman middle hitter Alexis Elliott had four kills with sophomore middle hitter Lauren Richardson and freshman outside Lisette Roldan each had three kills.

Concord will continue its season at the Davis & Elkins Tournament beginning Friday with a contest versus Bluefield State at 1 p.m. before they play Seton Hill at 5 p.m.
