Box Score ETTRICK, Va. – The Concord University men's basketball team won its season-opening game versus Virginia State 75-69 at the Virginia State Classic.
Sophomore guard
Aaron Miller scored a career-high 31 points on 13-for-20 shooting to lead the Mountain Lions to the victory.
After trailing 61-60 with 5:28 left in the game, Concord was able to finish the game on a 15-8 run to secure the win. The Mountain Lions are 3-1 in four season openers under head coach

Mike Boyd and freshman guard
Babe Murphy scored 16 and 10 point respectively. Boyd added seven rebounds and four assists while Murphy shot 3-for-5 from the field.
Junior forward
Jametrius Wade pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds while adding seven points.
For the game, the Mountain Lions shot 52 percent (27-for-51) compared to Virginia State's 37 percent from the field (17-for-46). CU also held advantage in rebounds (34-30), assists (11-9) and steals (9-6).
