ATHENS, W. Va. - The Concord University baseball team will continue its run towards the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Tournament with a three-game series this weekend at Davis & Elkins in a match-up that features the second and third ranked teams in the WVIAC-South Davison.

Records
Concord has won nine of its last 11 games to improve its record to 21-15 overall and 16-6 in the WVIAC. D&E is 19-13 overall and 13-8 in league play. The Mountain Lions enter the weekend ranked second in the WVIAC-South with the Senators right behind CU in third place.

The Series
Concord has won six straight games against Davis & Elkins dating back to the 2011 season.

The Coaches
Andrew Wright is 74-68 with one WVIAC Championship in his three seasons at Concord. Ronnie Palmer, a 1999 graduate of Davis & Elkins, is 125-152 in his time as the Senators coach.

Concord will wrap up the regular season with a seven-game homestand starting April 17 vs. West Liberty before playing Bluefield State in Princeton, W. Va. for the final three games of the regular season.

Last Time Out
• Concord won a pair of road games, sweeping Pitt-Johnstown 3-1, 6-3.

• Sophomore pitcher Kevin Mack earned the win in game one after giving up just one run over six innings while senior shortstop Josh Wenger went 2-for-2 with one RBI.

• Junior outfielder Bret Blevins hit a three-run home run and sophomore third baseman Ryan Johnston had three hits in game two. Freshman pitcher Chris Kelly was on the mound for the win.

•Junior pitchers Tim Leather and Chris Baker recorded saves in the sweep.

Scouting Concord
• Senior Devin Smith has been an offensive force in Concord's last eight games. Smith is batting .448 with 13 runs, 15 RBI, three doubles and two home runs during the stretch while also playing four different positions (2B, DH, LF, P).

• On the year, Smith his hitting .362 with nine doubles, five home runs and 34 RBI.

• Freshman outfielder Andrew Seigel is in the midst of a season-long 11-game hitting streak. The speedy freshman, who has stolen 18 bases on the year, is 22-for-42 during the streak: improving his season batting average 71 points from .323 to .394.

• As he has done since first dawning a Mountain Lion jersey as a freshman in 2011, Blevins is once again having another quality season. He leads the team in hits (46), runs scored (38), stolen bases (22) and doubles (10) in addition to batting .348 with two home runs and 29 RBI.

• With two more stolen bases from Seigel, he and Blevins will be the first WIVAC teammates this season with at least 20 stolen bases each. The duo is also tied with Smith for the team-lead in multi-hit games this year at 13.

• Johnston, who was named to the Tino Martinez Division II Player of the Year watch list at the beginning of the season, has strung together three three-hit games in CU's last nine contests.

• After a shaky three-game stretch, Leather (3-1) is dominating again. In his last four appearances (6.2 innings), Leather has struck out seven batters, earned one save and allowed just two runs.

• Mack has started his last three appearances, producing a 2-0 record, with six strikeouts and a 3.00 ERA over 18 innings of work. For the season, Mack has tallied a 3-0 record with a 3.62 ERA in 10 games.

• Baker leads Concord with five wins and is tied with Leather for the team-lead in saves with two. Baker's 3.64 ERA is just 0.02 behind Mack's 3.62 for the team-low.

• Freshman Joe Camp has continued to hit virtually anything thrown his way. Since March 30, a span of eight games, Camp has 18 hits in 32 at-bats including two home runs to go with 11 runs and 13 RBI.

• Concord's offense continues to dominate the WVIAC. As a team, CU leads the league in runs (333), hits (397), doubles (79), home runs (32), RBI (296), slugging percentage (.517) and on-base percentage (.437).

• Individual league leaders include Blevins in runs scored and junior first baseman Joey Miller in both home runs (nine) and RBI (43).
