ATHENS, W. Va. – The Concord University women's basketball team led 17th ranked Glenville State by as many as 10 points in the first half, but couldn't pull of the upset as Glenville State outscored the Mountain Lions by 24 points in the second half on the way to a 100-72 victory Thursday night at the Carter Center.
Concord (2-4, 0-3 Mountain East Conference) was led by junior forward
Andrea Bertrand, who scored a career-high 32 points while matching a personal-best with 12 rebounds. Bertrand went 15-for-23 from the field and 2-for-4 from the foul line in addition to two assists and one block.

Olivia Morgan rounded out Concord's top scorers with six points apiece. Artrip also grabbed six rebounds and passed out a career-high seven assists.
Other contributors for Concord on Thursday included senior center
Sammi Webster, who recorded at least six rebounds in a game for a sixth consecutive game with seven boards, and junior guard
Sissy Wagner, who had five assists.
As a team, Concord held edges over the Pioneers (5-1, 3-0 MEC) in field goal percentage (44.3 – 40.9), rebounds (53-47) and assists (20-18).
Thanks to an offense that had little trouble navigating the vaunted GSC press and a defense that held the Pioneers to a field goal percentage of just 38 percent through the opening 20 minutes, Concord led Glenville for the majority of the period including a pair of 10-point edges (35-25 and 37-27).
However, Glenville State closed out the first half on a 19-5 run to take a 46-42 lead over Concord into the locker room. GSC kept its momentum in the second half, leading by as many as 34 points (96-62) before ending the game with the 100-72 victory.
Kenyona Simmons scored 17 points to go with seven rebounds to lead Glenville State.
Concord will look to snap its three-game losing streak 2:00 p.m. Saturday at West Virginia Wesleyan.
