MOUNTAIN LION NOTES
• The Mountain Lions are 1-1 in their home opening games under third-year head coach Kent McBride.

• Dating back to the 1993-94 season Concord has won 37 of 51 games played against Bluefield State including eight of the last 10 contests since the 2009-10 season.

• Concord and Bluefield will play each other one more time this season when CU heads to Bluefield on Dec. 16.

• Monday's game is the first of three consecutive home contests for the Mountain Lions. After playing Bluefield State, Concord will prepare for its first Mountain East Conference games against Notre Dame (4:00 p.m., Nov.23) and Urbana (3:00 p.m., Nov. 25).

• Prior to the Mountain Lions' tipoff vs. Notre Dame, the court at the Carter Center will be named after the two men most synonymous with the CU's men's basketball program; former coaches Steve Cox and Don Christie. The formal dedication for Christie / Cox Court will take place shortly after the conclusion of Concord – Notre Dame women's game.

• Concord enters Monday's game with a record of 1-1 on the season. The Mountain Lions started their 2013-14 campaign at the Big House Gaines Tipoff Classic Nov. 8-9, defeating Fayettville State (83-78) and losing to No. 21 Winston-Salem State (83-80).

• Junior guard Mike Boyd has gotten off to a solid start this season, averaging 18.5 points, 4.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game in two games played.

• Boyd exploded to match a career-high in scoring with 24 points in CU's season-opening victory over Fayetteville State.

• Boyd has been aided on the offensive end by freshman guard Ali Barnes and freshman forward Jalen Camper. Barnes is 7-for-15 from three-point range this year and ranks second on the team in scoring at 17.0 ppg. Camper has begun his collegiate career by going for 13.0 points and 5.0 rebounds per contest.

• Much like last season, sophomore forward Nick Moyer continues to be a "glue guy" for the Mountain Lions as he has proved capable of helping in a variety of situations. At 7.0 rebounds per game, Moyer is the team's leading rebounder in addition to totaling four blocks, three steals, three assists and 10 points in two games while playing the third-most minutes of any CU player and shooting 55.6 percent (5-for-9) from the field.

• Bluefield State has gotten off to a 1-3 start this season. The Blues defeated Bluefield College (87-77) while dropping games to Tiffin (101-86), Ohio Dominican (77-64) and the Virginia Military Institute (121-80).
