Concord Looks to End Slide at Seton Hill Saturday

ATHENS, W. Va. - The Concord University women's basketball team will look to snap a three-game losing streak when they travel to Greensburg, Pa. to take on Seton Hill Saturday in a West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference game that could help kick-start the Mountain Lions' season.

Records
Concord is 4-12 overall and 3-7 in the WVIAC. Seton Hill, which will play Alderson-Broaddus Thursday, is 10-8 overall and 7-5 in league play.

Series
Concord defeated Seton Hill, 80-66, last season to within one game of Seton Hill in the all-time series (3-2).

Scouting Concord
CU is one of the best teams in the NCAA Division II when it comes to not turning the ball over. CU's 13.3 turnovers per game rank eighth in the nation and its +5.0 turnover margin is 27th in the nation.

• Concord has used eight starting lineups this season, with the grouping of Stephanie Wagner, Katy Somerville, Amanda Smith, Rachel Artrip and Sammi Webster having the most success (2-3).

• Sophomore forward Jacqueline Kestner extended her double-digit scoring streak to four games with a 10-point effort vs. West Liberty. She also grabbed 10 rebounds against WLU for her first double-double.

• Sophomore forward Rachel Artrip has scored 22 and 15 points per game over the last two contests for a per game average of 18.5.

• Artrip is also 8-for-15 (53.3 percent) from three-point range in her last five games.

• Sophomore guard Stephanie Wagner has proven to be one of the top players in the region in taking care of, and distributing, the basketball. Her assist/turnover ratio of 2.34 and 4.9 assists per game rank second and fifth in the Atlantic Region, respectfully.

• Wagner has 20 assists compared to just six turnovers over the last four games.

• Junior guard Amanda Smith, Concord's leading scorer at 13.1 points per game, has made 16 of her last 19 free throw attempts. Smith has scored at least 10 points in 11 games this season.

• Junior center Sammi Webster's seven points against West Liberty was her highest point total since scoring 11 points Dec. 8 at WV Wesleyan.

• Concord is 3-2 when leading at halftime of games this season.

Scouting Seton Hill
The Griffins, which has lost three-straight games, allows the third-fewest points per game (66.3) in the WVIAC. Offensively, Seton Hill's 35.8 three-point shooting percentage is the best in the conference.

The Seton Hill duo of Katie Gattuso (16.3 ppg) and Paige Alviani (15.5 ppg) are the sixth and eighth highest scorers in the WVIAC. Gattuso leads conference's leading rebounder at 11.9 rebounds per game and Alviani is shooting 45.2 percent from three-point range.

The Coaches
Concord head coach Kenny Osborne is 198-185 overall in 14 seasons as a Division II women's basketball coach and is 186-170 in his time at Concord.

Ferne Labati has compiled a coaching record of 547-394 in her career. She is 108-78 at Seton Hill.
