Men's XC Places 8th At Virginia Tech

BLACKSBURG, Va. - Facing some of the top runners in the nation, the Concord University men's cross country team came in eighth place Friday at the Virginia Tech Invitational.

Robby Peters, who has already been named the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference runner of the week once this season, led the Mountain Lions by running the course in 25:11.51 and finishing fourth overall in a 96-man field.

Concord's second finisher was Sterling Snyder, who placed 58th with a time of 26:44.97. CU's third-best runner was 76th-place finisher Brad Dugan and his time of 27:42.18.

Other Mountain Lions competing on Friday included Nick Lucento (82nd - 28:06.01), Jake Munsey (84th - 28:34.24), Brandon Perdue (85th - 28:50.05), Aaron Martin (89th - 33:57.34) and Jacob Smutko (90th - 35:37.86).

Florida State won the team competition. FSU's Zak Seddon finished in first place at 25:08.53.

Concord will race again Sept. 22 at the University of Charleston Invitational.
