BASEBALL: SNOWBALL'S CHANCE

DOUBLEHEADER AT WEST LIBERTY POSTPONED ONE DAY BY BAD WEATHER

What might be the last appearance of winter is having an impact on the last week of Concord's baseball schedule.

The late-April snowstorm that's making its way across the northeast has precipitated (pun intended) a change in CU's WVIAC doubleheader at West Liberty.

Originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 24, the twinbill is being moved back to Wednesday, April 25.  First pitch is set for Noon.

Meteorologists are predicting wind and rain in the Northern Panhandle on Tuesday, with high temperatures in the low 40s.  But the outlook is better for Wednesday, with sunny skies and highs reaching the low 60s.

The visit to West Liberty is Concord's last road trip of the regular season.  Concord is 20-25 overall, 16-14 in the WVIAC and in 2nd place in the South Division.  West Liberty is 9-27, 6-20 and in last place in the North.

The Mountain Lions close out the regular season this weekend by hosting WVIAC South Division rival Bluefield State in a three-game series at Anderson Field.

The two teams will play a seven-inning doubleheader on Saturday, April 28 and a single nine-inning game on Sunday, April 29; first pitch both days is scheduled for 1:00 pm and admission is free.
