For the second time in as many games this young season, the Concord Men's Soccer team showed signs of an improving offense.

But, also for the second time this season, it wasn't quite enough.

The Mountain Lions generated 11 shots – four of them on goal -- in their non-conference matchup against Caldwell College (NJ) Saturday morning. But CU fell to the Cougars, 3-0, in a neutral-site match in East Stroudsburg, PA. It was Concord's second match in 21 hours.

All-WVIAC midfielder Ivan Deyanov led CU with four shots, and he, Caleb Bone, Lucas Lemine and Jacob Wise put shots on goal. But the Cougars put six shots on goal for the match, and took control with a barrage of three goals in the span of less than 16 minutes.

Chris Skarbelis put Caldwell College on the board in the 16th minute. Mosiah White followed with a pair of goals – in the 21st and 31st minutes, respectively – to close out the scoring.

Up next for the Mountain Lions is their home opener, against Shippensburg University (PA) on Wednesday, September 7. Kickoff is scheduled for 2:00 pm at Anderson Field.
