Last fall, the Concord Men's Golf team made history.

The Mountain Lions steamrolled to a 52-stroke win in the WVIAC Championships in October, the largest margin of victory in conference annals.

This fall, the league's coaches expect history to repeat itself, although perhaps not quite as impressively.

The WVIAC's annual pre-season coaches' poll shows Concord as the 2011 favorite, but the Mountain Lions aren't predicted to be runaway winners.
Concord topped the balloting with six first-place votes and 137 points, but three other teams received first-place nods and five teams got more than 100 points.

West Liberty, Bluefield State, Fairmont State and the University of Charleston are among the teams the conference coaches feel will challenge Concord for the title this fall.

Concord loses a strong senior class from last year – including all-regional performers Ryan Terdik and Emmanuel Charmat, who was the 2010-11 WVIAC Player of the Year. But a solid core group of experienced players returns, paced by junior Johan Isberg and sophomores Matt Morgan and Evan Muscari.

The Mountain Lions begin their 2011 Fall season at the Kiawah Island Invitational in South Carolina on September 5-6.
