Concord Baseball's tough early-season schedule got a little tougher Monday, when the Mountain Lions fell to Kutztown University (PA), 6-3, in a non-conference game at the Savannah (GA) Invitational.

The Golden Bears went into the contest ranked #3 in the latest National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's Atlantic Region poll, and 31st in the nation.

KU took the lead with a four-run 2nd inning rally. Later, after Concord pulled to within 5-3, the Golden Bears added an important insurance run in the top of the 9th.

Concord had played the host school, Armstrong Atlantic State, on Sunday. The Pirates are ranked #7 in the NCBWA's Southeast Region and #34 in the nation.

Concord continues its Savannah appearance with a non-conference game against WVIAC foe West Liberty at 10:00 am on Tuesday, March 8.
