GLENVILLE STATE'S SIZZLING START DOWNS LADY LIONS

Glenville State's up-tempo, human-wave style of play makes them difficult for any team to handle.

When the Lady Pioneers are making their shots, they can be overwhelming.

Glenville State used a blazing hot start to quickly open a double-digit lead against Concord Monday night, and went on to defeat the Lady Lions 104-92 in a WVIAC matchup on "Pink Zone Day" at the Carter Center.

The Lady Pioneers made seven of their first eight shots in taking a 17-4 lead less than three minutes into the game. GSC's advantage ballooned to as much as 54-32 with 4:37 left in the 1st half and Concord trailed by double figures until pulling within 101-92 with :41 to go in the game.

Glenville State cooled off after its initial outburst and finished 38-82 (.463) from the field. The Lady Pioneers sank 9-20 three-pointers in the 1st and finished 11-32 (.344) from beyond the arc.

Concord was just 1-14 from three-point range but 34-74 (.459) from the field overall.

Jolysa Brown provided Concord yet another double-double, with game highs of 22 points and 11 rebounds. She also blocked five shots.
Sidney Lindsey added 20 points, nine rebounds, six steals and four blocked shots. Amanda Smith came off the bench to shoot 6-9 and finish with 17 points. Camisha Alexander chipped in 12 points, while Kristin Kidd scored eight points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

uick point guard Danielle Woodmore led Glenville State (17-7, 15-4) with 19 points, while Mishae Miles added 18 points and nine rebounds.

Up next for Concord (13-10, 10-9) is a matchup against WVIAC rival Fairmont State on Saturday, February 19 at the Carter Center. Tip-off is scheduled for 2:00 pm.

It will be Senior Day for the Lady Lions, and Sarah Blevins and Kristin Kidd will be honored in a pre-game ceremony.

Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN Radio 102.3 The Ticket, beginning at 1:30 pm.
