MEN'S SOCCER: BY ONE, ONCE MORE

CU ENDS SEASON WITH ONE-GOAL VICTORY

Ivan Deyanov vs WAU (JL) 1024 x 683
Sunday was Senior Day for the Concord Men's Soccer team – the final match for Ivan Deyanov, Lucas Lemine and Brian Maurer.

It was a freshman that sent off that trio on a winning note.

Caleb Bone scored the deciding goal in the 89th minute as Concord defeated Washington Adventist University (MD), 2-1, in a non-conference match at Anderson Field.

The victory ended CU's season at 3-15, with Bone scoring the winning goal in all three victories.

Sunday, the visitingShock took the first lead when Zerubbabel Beyene got to a bouncing ball in the right side
of the CU penalty area and fired a rocket into the upper left-hand corner of the net in the 40th minute.

Deyanov brought the Mountain Lions level in the 58th minute when he beat WAU goalkeeper Daniel Olofinsua for his team-high 8th goal of the season.

Despite being a man down, the Mountain Lions pressed the attack as time dwindled down, and it paid off.  Sophomore defender Frazer McKinlay assisted
