In the wake of the Concord Baseball team's 29-9 season, including a perfect 18-0 at home and an 11th consecutive appearance in the WVIAC Tournament, three Mountain Lion players have earned spots on the 2010 Daktronics All-Atlantic Region Baseball team.
Second baseman Greyson Schram is the region's Player of the Year and a member of the All-Atlantic 1st Team.
Shortstop Donovan Huffer and pitcher Brooks Cullen made the 2nd Team.
Schram put together one of the most remarkable seasons in Concord and WVIAC history this past season. The senior from Stanley, NC was one of the most obvious selections to the All-WVIAC 1st Team in league history – he won the WVIAC Triple Crown on the way to securing the conference's Player of the Year and Hitter of the Year awards.
Schram hit .508 with 20 home runs and 81 runs batted in over the course of just 38 games. He posted a remarkable 1.103 slugging percentage and .599 on-base percentage. Schram also clouted 15 doubles and was 11-13 in stolen base attempts. He walked 28 times with only 11 strikeouts.
Schram led the nation in slugging, on-base percentage, home runs per game (.53) and RBIs per game (2.13). He was runner-up in batting average.
Amazingly, Schram averaged a home run every 6.3 at bats and an RBI every 1.57 at bats.
Huffer combined with Schram to give Concord one of the most dangerous middle infields in college baseball.
The senior from Churchville, VA hit .496 with eight home runs and 57 RBIs. He slugged a gaudy .863 with a .575 on-base percentage.
Huffer led Concord in hits (65), doubles (20) and assists (101). He added two triples and drew 20 walks against only ten strikeouts in 131 at-bats.
Huffer was third in the nation in batting average, runs per game (1.66) and doubles per game (.53), fifth in on-base percentage and 9th in slugging.
For good measure, Huffer was valedictorian of Concord's 2010 graduating class.
Cullen emerged as the ace of Concord's pitching staff in 2010. The senior left hander from Stuarts Draft, VA went 8-1 with a 3.54 earned run average. In 53 1/3 innings, Cullen allowed 54 hits; he struck out 62 and walked only 17. He limited opponents to a .257 batting average in 12 appearances, with eight starts and two complete games.
His 10.47 strikeouts per nine innings pitched put Cullen among the nation's leaders.
When not pitching, Cullen spent much of his time playing first base, hitting .385 with 12 home runs and 55 RBIs. He added 14 doubles, slugged .769 and recorded a .500 on-base percentage. He drew 29 walks and struck out 18 times in 130 at-bats.
Schram, Huffer and Cullen were among 14 WVIAC players earning All-Region distinction.
Concord had one of the NCAA's most-feared offenses in 2010. As a team, the Mountain Lions were second in the nation in slugging (.604), fourth in scoring (10.8 runs/game) and seventh in batting average (.369).
CU's Keith Morrisroe, an All-WVIAC 1st Team selection, led the nation in runs per game (1.84).

Concord finished 8th in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association's final Atlantic Region poll of the season and was in the Also Receiving Votes category of the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper's national top 30.
