SPRING FOOTBALL SCHEDULE SET

Annual Spring Game Kicks Off April 24th

At this time of year, there are many signs that winter is giving way to spring – rising temperatures, warm sunshine (when the sun shines, that is), the chirping of songbirds ... and the return of college football.

The Concord Football team has spent the long winter going through another rigorous off-season conditioning program, with an eye on building on a turnaround 6-5 season in 2009.

The Mountain Lions will take a big step toward what they hope will be a better 2010 season when they open their Spring practice schedule on Monday, March 29th.

Concord will take part in 15 practice sessions, concluding with the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 24th, at Callaghan Stadium.

“We can't wait to get back outdoors and get back to it,” said Concord head coach Mike Kellar, going into his second season in Athens. “The guys have been working hard in the weight room, and they're doing what they need to do to get better. But there's nothing like getting out on that field again.”

The Spring Game will kick off at 4:00 pm EDT on April 24th. In conjunction, Concord Football will host a barbecue for friends of the Mountain Lions program and CU's 2010 signees and their families at 1:00 pm at the Carter Center.
