BOUNCED TWICE AT TRIANGULAR

CU FALLS TO KING AND MILLIGAN IN BRISTOL, TN

Concord's Volleyball team wrapped up the non-conference section of its 2010 schedule with a triangular meet Tuesday night in Bristol, TN.

The Lady Lions fell to King College (TN) in their first match – 30-28, 25-15, 25-12 – and bowed to Milligan College (TN) in the nightcap, 25-8, 25-15, 25-18.

Amber Miller led CU against King with seven kills and 12 digs. Tori Fornadel, Kayla Martin and Jasmin Sutherland floored five kills each.

Helen Theisen distributed 23 assists and Allie Pennington added 11 digs.


The host Tornado recorded 47 kills to CU's 27. King outhit Concord .285 to .083 in improving to 23-8 on the season.

It was the second meeting between Concord and King this season. The Tornado defeated CU in three sets at the Carter Center on October 12.

Tuesday's triangular ended a stretch of five matches in five days for CU.


Up next for Concord is a busy weekend of three WVIAC matches to conclude the regular season, the first two at home. The Lady Lions host Bluefield State at 6:00 pm Friday, November 5, then welcome Davis & Elkins to Athens for a match at 10:00 am Saturday, November 6.

Admission to both matches at the Carter Center is free.

Concord ends the weekend with a visit to West Virginia Wesleyan at 4:00 pm Sunday, November 7.
