Shepherdstown, WV- The Concord Mountains Lions left on Wednesday Night for a extended basketball weekend. Their first stop was in Shepherdstown, WV on Thursday night, where they squared off against the Rams. Shepherd shot a blazing 57 percent from the floor as the Mountain Lions continue to struggle in WVIAC play. Shepherd downed the Mountain Lions 85-70.
Concord entered the game losing the last 4 of 5 contests. The Mountain Lions made 13 first half field goals including 6 from behind the arc. Also, Concord was perfect from they free throw line as the had an impressive first half on the offensive end.
However, the Mountain Lions couldn't slow down the high powered offense of the Rams. The Rams shot 58 percent in the first half. The Rams took a 40-34 lead into halftime.
The story line in the second half was a mimic of the first. Concord shot extremely well making 14 field goals in the second half and 6 more three-pointers, giving them 12 for the game. Despite such a good offensive output the Mountain Lions couldn't slow down the Rams.
Fred Lymas, Justin Jarman, and Johnathan Motichka led the hot shooting Rams as they combined for 52 of the 85 points. Shepherd would eventually down the Mountain Lions 85-70.
Anthony Landsdowne came off the bench to lead the Mountain Lions in scoring with 20 points. Dannie Parker added 15 points and 5 rebounds. While Matt Parker scored 11 points of his own.
Concord (6-9, WVIAC 1-7) will be on the road on Saturday, January 26th in Johnstown, PA to take on the Pitt-Johnstown Cats. Tip-off is set for 4:00pm.
