Hearst won the 100-meter dash at the Mountain East Conference Championships in a time of 10.63 seconds to earn All-MEC First Team in the event. Throughout the season, Hearst has owned the MEC's top time in the event after running 10.61 second at the Lee Invite in early April. He also opened the season with a sprint of 10.66 seconds at Myrtle Beach.
