Weitzel finished the Mountain East Conference Championships as the MEC MVP, scoring 26 points for the Mountain Lions. Weitzel won the 1,500-meter run in a meet record time of 3:53.82 while finishing second in both the 5,000-meter run and 10,000-meter run. The 1,500-meters was Weitzel's fifth career win in an event at the MEC Championships.
