Haynes ran a time of 25:58 and finished ninth at the Roanoke College Invite on Saturday. His time for the 8,000-meter course is the fastest of his career for 8,000-meters. The Cana, Virginia native ran nearly two minutes faster than his previous 8,000-meter best time. Additionally, Haynes helped the Mountain Lions to a third-place team finish as they were the top Division II school at the meet.
