Ruiz recorded two personal records at the Virginia Tech Challenge over the weekend. Ruiz broke the 5:30 barrier in the mile for the first time in her career as she ran 5:26.44 and finished ninth in the one mile run. Additionally, Ruiz clocked a time of 10:58.99 in the 3,000-meter run to clam 14th place in a field of largely Division I competitors.
