MACON, Ga. – Concord University men's golfers
Stefan Labuschagne and
Evan Muscari have been named to the 2013 PING All-Atlantic Region team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Labuschagne led Concord to the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference championship after earning medalist honors at the tournament with a three-round score of four-over (220). He also placed second at the WVIAC Central Regional, tied for fourth at the WVIAC Northern Regional and 19th at the WVIAC Southern Regional. In nine events this season, Labuschagne tallied one win, five top-10 finishes and an average 18-hole score of 75.2.
Muscari was Concord's most consistent golfer in 2013. The Capitol One District Two All-Academic honoree averaged a team-low score of 74.5 per round while accumulating two wins and seven top-five finishes in nine events. A two-time PING All-Region selection, Muscari shot a -8 to win the WVIAC Central Regional title. He also tied for fourth at the WVIAC Northern Regional and placed fifth at the WVIAC Championships.
The duo guided Concord to a ninth-place team finish by tying for 22nd place individually at the NCAA Super Regional Tournament in May.
The Division II PING All-Region team features 109 players across eight regions - East, Atlantic, Southeast, South, Midwest, South Central, Central and West.
