Alyssa Hanley

Alyssa Hanley completed her second season as the assistant coach under volleyball coach Kate Southcott in the fall of 2015.

During her time as assistant coach, Hanley has helped Southcott coach three All-Mountain East Conference selections in Sarah Jones, Brooke Heck and Brytni Willis. Additionally, Jones and Willis were tabbed all-region after the 2014 season. And Heck was named to the All-MEC Freshman Team.

In her first season at Concord, the Mountain Lions won 18 matches which was the most wins for the program since 2002. CU also earned a spot in the MEC Tournament after winning seven matches against conference foes.

A native of Denton, Texas, Hanley was a prep standout at Guyer High School where she led her team to a 28-12 record and a district championship during her senior season in 2008. After graduating from Guyer in 2009, Hanley went on to play at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.

In her freshman season, Hanley saw action in 12 matches while recording 21 digs and 14 kills as an outside hitter for the Ragin’ Cajuns.

Hanley then elected to transfer to West Texas A&M to continue her playing career as a sophomore. However, a back injury hampered her year and eventually led to the end of her collegiate career. She graduated from West Texas A&M in 2013 with a degree in mass communications.

Off the court, Hanley served as an Athletic Marketing and Promotions intern at West Texas A&M in the fall of 2011 as well as the Louisiana-Lafayette baseball team's videographer for the 2010 season.

Once her playing days concluded, Hanley began coaching club teams in Texas. She coached 13-U for the Panhandle Volleyball Club from 2010-2011 before handling head coaching duties for the 14-U at the Canyon Volleyball Club 2013-14.

As the assistant coach at Concord, Hanley will handle day-to-day operations of the program including making travel plans for away games, in-game coaching and recruiting. Hanley lives in Athens and is pursuing her master’s degree in health promotion at Concord.
