Casey Ord will begin her second season as an assistant coach for the Concord University cross country / track & field teams. Ord's primary responsibilities will be to assist with recruiting as well as working with jumps, sprints and relays during track season.
Â
In her first season as a coach, Ord helped guide a total 14 all-conference athletes between the cross country and track seasons.
Born in Palmerton, Pennsylvania, Ord was a successful student-athlete at Palmerton High School. She earned six top-eight finishes in her four years of competing at the Pennsylvania State Championship Meet.
After high school, she attended Northampton Community College where she played two years of NJCAA DIII softball, earning All-America honors.
Following her time at Northampton, Ord played one year of softball for Concord. She received first team All-West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference accolades, finishing in the top five in batting average and stolen bases at .419 average and 17, respectively.
Ord then competed for Concord’s track & field team for two years. During the 2012 outdoor season, Ord qualified for WVIAC Championships the triple jump, long jump, 100-meter dash and 200-meter dash. At the 2013 Championships she competed in the 100-meters, 200-meters, and the championship winning 4x100-meter and 4x400-meter relay teams.
Â
She still holds the Concord indoor 55-meter dash record with a time of 7.41 seconds. Additionally, Ord is a member of the CU’s school record 4x200-meter indoor and 4x200-meter outdoor relay teams.
What Ord did on the track was second to her outstanding academic work. She earned Dean’s List honors all six semesters at Concord and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education. She was named the 2013 Health & PE student of the year.
Ord is currently working towards her master’s degree in Health Promotion at Concord.
