Bella Iorio begins her second season as Luke Duffy's assistant coach for the women's soccer program in the fall of 2020.
Iorio was part of Concord's historic campaign in 2019 as the Mountain Lions went 19-2, won the Mountain East Conference Championship and appeared in the NCAA Tournament for the time in program history. Additionally, Iorio helped coach nine All-MEC selections, seven all-region players and two All-Americans, Leah Foster and Mira Kontio, in her inaugural coaching season.Â
Ioria began her coaching career in Athens after a four-year career at UNC-Asheville where she started 33 games over the final two years of eligibility as a midfielder for the Bulldogs. During the 2017 and 2018 seasons, Ioria was named a team captain.
The Clayton, North Carolina native was also on North Carolina's Olympic Development Program (ODP) from 2010-13 prior to her collegiate playing days in western North Carolina.
Though having just graduated from UNC-Asheville, Ioria brings prior coaching experience with her to Concord. She has previously tutored the U9-U12 developmental academy in North Carolina and also coached at Highland Futbol Club in Asheville. Once exhausting her playing days for the Bulldogs, Ioria assisted with the women's soccer program in the spring of 2019.
