Madison Heller

Madison Heller

Heller begins her third season on the sidelines as the top assistant for women's basketball head coach Tesla Soutchott in 2024-25.

During her first season as a coach at a program that brought Heller into the coaching ranks, the Mountain Lions advanced to the MEC Tournament Semifinals as both Abbie Smith and Jaisah Smith were voted All-MEC. In 2023-24, J. Smith rose to be a First Team All-MEC selection while A. Smith maintain her spot on the All-MEC Second Team.

Heller filled in as the temporary head coach for the final four regular season games of the 2023-24 regular season while Southcott was out with the birth of a child.

The Athens native suited up for the Mountain Lions from 2016-20 where she became one of the top all-around players in program history, and earned all-region honors during her final two seasons at Concord. Heller finished with 1,788 career points, third all-time in program history to go with 762 rebounds (fourth at CU) and 331 assists (tied for fourth). She also ranks top 10 in program history in free throws made (second / 509), blocks (fourth / 94) and field-goal percentage (sixth / 47.4). Over her four-year playing career at CU, Heller became the only player in program history with 1,500 career points, 750 rebounds and 250 assists.

As a player, Heller was a driving force behind Concord having a +16-win improvement from the 2016-17 season to the 2018-19 season as CU evolved from seven wins to 13 wins to back-to-back 20-win seasons during her junior and senior seasons. Additionally, Concord won a single-season program record 23 games during the 2018-19 campaign.

No stranger to success as a player, Heller was around a winning program during her only season on the sidelines. During the shortened 2021 season, she was the top assistant for head coach Kim Stephens and the Glenville State women's basketball program. Heller was on the bench for a 12-4 mark and a run to the Mountain East Conference Championship Game as well as an NCAA Tournament appearance.

Heller and her husband, former Concord men's basketball standout, Ethan, are parents of a son, Jayce.
