The 2013 season will be Taylor Ryal’s first as a graduate assistant at Concord University under head softball coach Alisa Tasler.
Ryal will be responsible for helping the Mountain Lions’ hitters and recruiting efforts while also handling game management duties.
Prior to coming Concord, Ryal was a standout first baseman at MidAmerica Nazarene University and Neosho County Community College, where she played for Tasler.
In two seasons at MidAmerica Nazarene, Ryal started 102 of 103 games played, hitting .405 (125-for-309) with 30 doubles, 23 home runs, 101 RBI and a .725 slugging percentage. In the field, Ryal recorded a .992 fielding percentage. She helped lead the Pioneers to consecutive trips to the NAIA National Tournament and an 85-20 record.
For her efforts Ryal earned first team all-conference honors twice as well as second team All-America accolades as a junior.
Ryal played at Neosho in 2007 and 2008. Her name can still be found littered through the Neosho record books. Her nine home runs in 2007 and 2008 are tied for fifth most in a single season while her 58 RBI in 2007 is the ninth highest single-season total by a Neosho player.
Ryal earned her bachelor’s degree in English Education from the University of Central Oklahoma in 2011.
