Laura Ashlock will begin her second season as the assistant softball coach at Concord during the 2018-19 school year.

During her first season at CU, Ashlock helped mentor Jenna Witt, who had a breakout season and became the softball program's second All-American as Witt was named a Third Team All-American at season's end in 2018.

Prior to moving into a coaching role at Concord, Ashlock spent two seasons playing against Concord as the first baseman for the University of Charleston. Ashlock was a two-time consensus all-region players for the Golden Eagles, and also helped Charleston to consecutive appearances in the NCAA Tournament.

During the 2016 season, Ashlock was on the Charleston team that became the first Mountain East Conference school to participate in the College World Series when UC was in the final eight of the NCAA Tournament in Denver, Colorado.

A transfer from Northeastern Oklahoma, The Liberty, Missouri native was equally impressive in her two seasons at NEO. She was also an all-region selection in both seasons at NEO and helped the Lady Norse to a runner-up finish at the National Junior College World Series in 2015.

Ashlock received her degree from Charleston in the spring of 2017 in general studies with an emphasis in biology.
