Kalen is a graduate of Northwood High School in Saltville, VA.  She is an infield player having played most of her senior year at third base.  Her quick reactions are an added advanage at the hot corner.  Her batting average was in the top five of the team and her put outs led to the success of the team during their 2007 season.

Her academic performance is as strong as her atheltic abilities.  She had a perfect score on the Virginia SOL history component.  She also earned two academic letters with a 3.0GPA during her high school career. 

Kalen plans to major in history during her stay at Concord.  Her experience in the classroom as well as on the field should bring confidence and dependabiity to the university's program.  Her former high school coach, a Concord Alumnus, is Crystal Kestner, a basketball, softball and track performer.
