James Wood is in his third year as a assistant athletic trainer for the Concord University Baseball, Golf and Volleyball programs. Wood graduated from Concord in May 2019 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training and a minor in Sports Medicine. He was also a baseball player at Concord University from 2015-2019.
After graduating, Wood became a Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. During his time at Lamar, Wood worked with the LU Football team as well as the Men’s Golf team. He also received his Master of Science in Kinesiology from Lamar University. In the summers of 2017 and 2018, Wood was a summer intern for the Houston Texans.Â
James most recently came from Virginia Tech where he was a Resident Athletic Trainer for the Hokies' Football program. James has been a certified member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association since 2019. He is also a Licensed Athletic Trainer by the West Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
