Scott McKillop

Former Pitt linebacker and NFL linebacker Scott McKillop begins his second season with the Concord University football team in 2017.

McKillop is in charge of the linebackers as well as the special teams.

In his first season coaching linebackers at CU, Zach Malone was a First Team All-Mountain East Conference pick as he amaseed 108 tackles, just the 10th 100-tackle season in Concord history. Malone also forced three fumbles under McKillop's watchful eye during his sophomore season.

McKillop brought pro experience to the special teams unit at Concord after flourishing on that unit in the NFL. Garrett Lee was not only one of the best punters in the MEC, but in the nation as he finished top 10 in Division II in net punting average in 2016. The Mountain Lions also continued their tradition of being a stellar kick/punt block unit as they swatted three kicks.

The Export, Pennsylvania native was a fifth-round selection by the San Francisco 49ers in the 2009 NFL Draft. During his rookie season, McKillop played in all 16 games and led the 49ers' special teams unit in tackles and even recovered a blocked punt for a touchdown. Due to injury, McKillop's pro career was cut short in 2010.

Along with coaching at Pitt, McKillop spent his college playing days as a Panther. McKillop was named an All-American during his senior season in 2007 and was also tabbed the Big East Defensive Player of the Year.

McKillop also led the nation in tackles per game as a junior at Pitt as he racked up an average of 12.5 stops per game.
