A familiar face to the Mountain East Conference, Justin Zimmerman begins his first season of charge of the Concord football offensive as the offensive coordinator under head coach Cody Edwards.Â
Zimmerman comes to Concord from fellow MEC school West Virginia Wesleyan. He spent this past fall calling the offense for the Bobcats. The graduate of Averett University in 2009 has worked primarily with wide receivers throughout his coaching career with stops at Division II schools Carson-Newman, Maryville and Tusculum. At C-N, Zimmerman also served as the Eagles' recruiting coordinator while coaching Braxton Westfield to All-American honors at wide receiver.
Zimmerman moved around Tennessee as he spent five seasons at Maryville before landing at Carson-Newman in 2022. Zimmerman's Maryville receiving unit was one of the most explosive in 2016 as Mac Seagle led Division III in yards per catch (30.2).Â
And prior to his time at Maryville, Zimmerman made a stop at Tusculum University where he held a variety of roles including wid receivers coach, video coordinator and camp coordinator from 2012-15.Â
He got his start in coaching in 2011 at East Stroudsburg in Pennsylvania.
