Jermaine Witherspoon starts his coaching career at Concord after a successful playing career at multiple Division II schools. 

Witherspoon wrapped up his playing career at Midwestern State in 2024 as he racked up 28 tackles while playing in 10 games for the Mustangs. The native of Miami played the first four years of his career at Tusculum in Greeneville, Tennessee where he was one of the best to ever play in the defensive backfield for the Pioneers. 

Witherspoon's 10 career interceptions are tied for third most in the Tusculum career record book. He was a two-time All-South Atlatnic Conference performer as he played in 33 career games during his time in eastern Tennessee which is where head coach Cody Edwards first meant Witherspoon.
