Cody Shirley assumes the role of wide receivers coach for the second season at Concord in 2017.

A former wide receiver at VMI during his playing days, Shirley tutored Paul Jones and Brandon Plyler to breakout seasons in 206 as the pair combined for over 500 yards receiving and seven touchdowns. Neither player appered in a game the previous season.

Shirley also coached two of the most dynamic players for the CU offense in 2016 in Jermeil Douse and Davon McGill who both went over 500 yards receiving while accumulating eight touchdowns receiving betwween the pair.

During his time at VMI, Shirley became familiar with the offensive system ran by former Concord offensive coordinator Dustin Ward.
