JOHNSTON CITY, Tenn. – History was made Friday night by the Concord University triathlon team as they competed in the first-ever meet at the Buccaneer Cup hosted by East Tennessee State.
In the sprint triathlon meet, a 750-meter swim, a 20-kilometer swim (12.4 minutes) and a 5,000-meter run, Concord's top finisher was sophomore
Emma Rhodes who completed the course in 36:31 which was good enough for 30
th. Freshman
Elexandrea Cly clocked 38:19 for 32
nd. And senior
Marimo Akita placed 39
th in a time of 42:29.
The next event for CU will be the Beaver County Cup hosted by Duquesne University in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania September 19.
