ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University men's and women's cross country teams close out the month of September by competing at the Rams Atlantic Region Preview Friday morning at Redmon Sports Complex in Kernersville, North Carolina.

The Concord women's cross country team was 12
th last weekend in Alabama. Sophomore Violet collected her second top-15 finish of the season in as many races by finishing eighth in a time of 19:18 for 5,000-meters. Sophomore
Avery Lilly came through in 21:27 while fellow sophomore
Emma Willie also dipped under 22 minutes in 21:55. Freshman
Maddie Lilly clocked 22:01, and the final scorer for Concord was junior
Larah Blevins (22:31). Senior

ATLANTIC REGION PREVIEW
Friday's meet will serve as a tune-up for the same course that will host the Division II Atlantic Region Championship on November 21. It will be Concord's first time racing at the Redmon Sports Complex in program history, and this November marks the first time the Atlantic Regional Championship will be hosted in North Carolina since the 2010 season.
The Mountain Lion men will go up against some stiff competition. In the latest USTFCCCA Atlantic Region Rankings that were released September 15, Fayetteville State (third), Point Park (fifth), East Stroudsburg (sixth), Concord (eighth) and Glenville State (tenth) were all in the top 10. Additionally, Friday will be the first time this season that CU races against any Mountain East Conference school as Davis & Elkins, Glenville State, West Liberty and West Virginia Wesleyan will all be in attendance.
The CU women will get an up-close look at the top-ranked team in the USTFCCCA Atlantic Regional Rankings with East Stroudsburg garnering the first spot last week. Point Park and Fayetteville State were ranked sixth and seventh in the latest poll. And like the men, the Mountain Lion women go up against MEC teams for the first time in 2026.
The race distances this weekend will be 6,000 meters for the women and 8,000 meters for the men.
