THE CHANCES ARE COMING
The Mountain Lions have been racking up goal-scoring opportunities but they haven't quite converted at the rate they've wanted. CU is averaging 13.8 shots per game which features a total of 25 shots on goal. Concord has tallied 13 or more shots in every game this season outside of the tilt with Charleston. Offensively, sophomore midfielder Koya Nakamura and senior forward Dominique Malhomme have each scored a pair of goals to top the charts for Concord.Â
SHUT 'EM DOWN
Concord's defense has truly shined this season, only allowing five goals in six games. The Mountain Lion back line, captained by senior defender Zakari Messam, have limited opponents to 44 shots and only 16 shots on goal. In net, junior goalkeeper Iori Tanaka has made 11 saves and posted three clean sheets in just six games.
BACK TO BUSINESS
The Maroon and Gray will face Salem on Sunday in search of a different result than the last time these two squads faced off. In Athens last season, Concord played to a 1-1 draw with Salem despite CU having a ridiculous 24 shots and seven shots on goal. This was the first result that was not a Concord victory since 2018 for Salem.
POUNDING THE PIONEERS
In just four games against Point Park, Concord have taken care of business with wins in all matches. In last seasons meetings, Concord thrashed PPU at home with a 4-0 win. The matchup in Pittsburgh saw a 2-0 win for CU, featuring goals from Malhomme and sophomore defender Adam Leibowitz.
SCOUTING THE SALEM TIGERS
Salem is off to a 2-2-2 start in 2026, coming off of back-to-back draws. The Tigers are led by Arokya Shrestha and Josue Villegas on offense, as the pair each have five points on the young season.
SCOUTING THE POINT PARK PIONEERS
Point Park currently sit at 2-3-2, but are looking to get back on track in MEC play. Hector Moreno is pacing the PPU attack with three goals to top the squad.
