DOMINANT DISPLAY
The Mountain Lions completely shutdown West Virginia Wesleyan in their last outing. Despite the score finishing just 2-0, CU completely dictated the pace of play for its first MEC win of the season. Offensively, it was senior forward Dominique Malhomme getting off the mark with a crafty opening goal. A second-half insurance came from senior forward Mcallan Augustin squaring up a volley for his first Concord goal. Where the Maroon and Gray completely dominated was on defense. They held WVWC without a shot in the first half and did not let the Bobcats put a shot on goal in the full 90 minutes.
 
SPREAD YOUR WINGS
In Wednesday's win, CU got some excellent play from its fullbacks and wingers. While working down the sides of the pitch at Callaghan Stadium, the Mountain Lions tallied 37 throw-ins and six corners. Junior left back Neko Worthy and junior right back Ben Musengo were instrumental in creating chances for Concord with Musengo walking away with his first points for Concord, assisting on the Augustin goal. In the second half, junior forward Lucas Costa was electric with the ball at his feet, creating multiple quality scoring opportunities and sending a ball ringing off the crossbar in the 80th minute.
 
NEW KIDS ON THE BLOCK
On Sunday, Concord welcomes Shawnee State in what will be the first ever matchup between the two sides. The Bears are newcomers to the MEC and are making the jump from the NAIA level. SSU is the only school on the Mountain Lions' schedule that they have not yet played.
 
SEARCHING FOR A FIRST
While Concord does have a limited history against Seton Hill, it's certainly been a while since the two teams tangoed. CU's last contest with the Griffins came in 2012 in what was a 2-1 defeat for Concord—both schools were members of the West Virginia Intercollegiate Athletic Conference at the time. In five games played, Concord is 0-4-1 against Seton Hill and will search for its first win on the road against a talented SHU program.
 
SCOUTING THE SHAWNEE STATE BEARS
Considering its their first action in Division II play, the Bears have gotten off to a solid start. Shawnee State currently posts a 2-2-1 record and picked up an MEC win against West Virginia Wesleyan in the only conference game they've played. SSU is coming off a massive 6-0 drumming of the University of Cincinatti-Clermont in the midweek which featured six different goal scorers for the Bears.
 
SCOUTING THE SETON HILL GRIFFINS
After an 11-win campaign in 2025, Seton Hill is off to a slower start this year for its lofty standards. The Griffins currently sit at 1-2-1 and haven't yet kicked off conference play. SHU is led by freshman midfielder Rafael Santos who has two goals and two assists in just four games.
