FAIRMONT, W.Va. – The Concord University women's golf team has been pegged to finish fifth in the Mountain East Conference as the conference coaches' preseason poll has been unveiled.

2025 REVIEW
Concord finished fourth in last season's Mountain East Conference Championship that was played at the Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, West Virginia. During the spring season, the Mountain Lions finished fifth at the MEC Spring Classic. The best finish for CU was winning the Pipestem Collegiate in mid-September. Concord also placed third at Clarion's Golden Eagle Invite at the end of September.
2026 SCHEDULE
The Maroon and Gray starts the fall season in just over a week when they travel to the Cal Vulcan Invite in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania September 3-4. A week later, CU will be in action at the University of Charleston Invite at Edgewood Country Club in Charleston September 9-10. The final tune-up before the MEC Championship will be the Senator Larry Edgell Invite hosted by Fairmont State at Green Hills Country Club September 28-29. The MEC Championship is slated for October 11-13 at Stonewall Resort in north central West Virginia. And the fall season wraps up with the West Virginia Wesleyan Invite October 20-21 in Clarksburg, West Virginia.
THE RETURNERS
All four of Concord's scoring golfers from last season's 20 rounds return to head coach
John Ross's lineup in 2026-27. Sophomore
Kendra Lugo and junior
Sara Matos Tamargo both earned All-MEC Honorable Mention. Lugo led CU with a scoring average of 83.0, including six rounds of 80 or better. She had five rounds under 80 during the fall season that featured a career-best 76 at Charleston. Tamargo averaged 93.5. Sophomore
Reagan Friel shot an average of 98.7 during her freshman campaign while junior
Alexandria Denny rounds out the returners for Concord. She has played 37 career rounds as a Mountain Lion.
THE NEWCOMERS
CU welcomes two freshmen to join the core four of Mountain Lion women's golf with the addition of
Riley Bush (Graham, North Carolina/Southern Alamance) and
Bailee Thompson (Bland, Virginia/Bland County).
