BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Concord University Athletics has finished seventh in the 2025-26 Mountain East Conference Commissioner's Cup that was released Thursday afternoon by the league office.

The Commissioner's Cup standings are compiled using an "all-sports rating." This rating is determined by a formula that awards points to a school for its regular season finish equal to the number of teams per sport sponsored by the MEC, and then divided by the number of sports offered by the institution. The final rating is a percentage of points acquired against the number of points available (average percentile finish in the standings of each sport sponsored by an institution). A bonus point is given for winning the conference tournament (in applicable sports).

Charleston won the MEC Commissioner's Cup with an all-sports rating of 0.978. Glenville State (0.670) was second followed by Frostburg State (0.644), Fairmont State (0.608) and West Liberty (0.553) to round out the top five. Point Park (0.540) was just ahead of Concord (0.506). West Virginia Wesleyan (0.462), Wheeling (0.447), Davis & Elkins (0.431) and West Virginia State (0.352) were the final four teams in the MEC Commissioner's Cup Standings.

Concord had a possible point total of 166 and finished the academic year with 84.1 points. And CU bumped up two spots from its 2024-25 finish of ninth.

Some of the team highlights for the Mountain Lions in 2025-26 were baseball winning the MEC South Division Title for the first time in nine years and men's soccer finishing second in the MEC Standings for the second straight year and advancing to the MEC Championship for the second time in as many years. Women's basketball was fourth in the MEC regular season—the highest finish for the program since 2022. And men's cross country and women's golf both finished fourth at their respective conference championship. Women's soccer was second in the MEC South Division and advanced to the MEC Tournament Semifinal while volleyball made the same round of the MEC Tournament.
