Concord Rolls to 4-0 Win at West Virginia Wesleyan

BUCKHANNON, W.Va. – The Concord University men's soccer team rolled to a tenth straight Mountain East Conference win with a 4-0 victory at West Virginia Wesleyan Wednesday evening at Culpepper Stadium.

Nationally-ranked, number 18 Concord (11-2-2, 10-1 MEC) notched another clean sheet in blanking the Bobcats (0-11-3, 0-9-2 MEC) while scoring three of its four goals in the second half.

The first half remained quiet for the majority of it with the Bobcats actually a good bit of the offense—junior goalkeeper Iori Tanaka was forced into making three saves in the first 45 minutes.

Despite the slow start, freshman midfielder Josiah Ochoa notched his team-best fifth goal of the season on a well-struck finish into the top right corner in the 42nd minute.

The second half was dominated by the Mountain Lions. In the 58th minute, they doubled their lead with junior forward Lucas Costa scoring his third goal of the season, assisted by sophomore midfielder Koya Nakamura.

The third goal for Concord came in the 72nd minute by junior midfielder Keeyan Thomas. Senior forward Dominique Malhomme made a great run and delivered a great cross to the middle of the six-yard box for Thomas to tuck home his second goal of 2026.

CU collected another goal in the 84th minute on a deflected ball that snuck past the Bobcats keeper—the goal was credited to junior midfielder Stephane Shongo.

Tanaka made four saves in another clean sheet win for CU, the 10th of the 2026 campaign.

The Mountain Lions owned a 12-10 edge in total shots. No player took more than two shots for the Maroon and Gray.
