TURNING TIDES
Both the Bobcats and the Golden Eagles have historically gotten the better of Concord, but last year was a big step up for the Mountain Lions. In 2024, CU swept both games against WVWC for the first time in program history with a goal differential of 6-0. CU also picked up its first ever win against Charleston last season. It came in the regular-season finale at Callaghan Stadium and was a truly historic win. It was also the first time that the Mountain Lions had ever taken down a nationally ranked opponent.

BACKLINE PRODUCTION
Concord has seen its defense provide them with a plethora of offensive production through just three games. Mountain Lion defensemen have combined for three of Concord's 11 goals. Senior defender Kai Forsyth netted his first career brace in the win against Point Park. Fellow senior center back Julian Correa converted a penalty kick in that same outing. Another senior defender making his mark early is Ted Roberts. Roberts has racked up four assists already, serving as one of the catalysts for the offense.

CLEAN SHEET
Last time out, CU's defense was stifling. The Maroon and Gray dominated Point Park offensively, but also picked up their first clean sheet of the season. Concord held the Pioneers to just eight shots on the match, with only two of them being on goal. Senior goalkeeper Miguel Oliveria spent more than 70 minutes in the combined shutout.

OFFENSIVE POWERHOUSE
Concord's offense has continued its stride from last season and are looking extremely high powered. They lead the Mountain East Conference in goals with 11, which is seven more than the next team. They are tied for first in the MEC in shots with 53, with 23 of those being on goal. CU also leads the conference in assists with eight as a team.

SCOUTING THE WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN BOBCATS
The Bobcats have dropped their first two matches of the season, both to conference foes Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State. They will make their season home debut against the Mountain Lions this Sunday, but WVWC is looking to improve its form. Last season they went 4-11-4 overall with an MEC record of 3-8-3. They only return one of their top four leading goalscorers from 2024, that being senior forward Casey Bunker. Early into the season, that looks to be the main question for the Bobcats as they are yet to score a goal.

SCOUTING THE CHARLESTON GOLDEN EAGLES
The Golden Eagles are currently ranked fourth in the United Soccer Coaches Top 25 Division II Poll. Charleston was the National Runner-up a season ago, falling to Lynn University in the title game. Charleston did lose their top three goalscorers from a season ago, but are off on the right foot to start 2025. They opened the season with a 0-0 draw against seventh ranked, Saginaw Valley State University. They followed that up with home wins over 14th ranked Tiffin University and Wheeling University. Charleston was crowned both regular season and conference champions in 2024, titles they have had since the 2022 season.
