Fall Game Promotions Released

ATHENS, W.Va. – The Concord University Athletic Department has announced the fall promotion schedule for all athletic events.

Below is a rundown of each promotion and what athletic event it will take place at.

September 18: Concord vs. Bluefield State Volleyball (7pm) – Mercer County Madness/Student Night
All Concord students are invited to pack the Carter Center as the Mountain Lion volleyball team welcomes Mercer County rival Bluefield State as part of the Concord Classic. Students will have the chance to participate in different games as well as receive giveaways.

September 27: Concord vs. West Liberty Football (1pm) - Family & Youth Day
In conjunction with family weekend across Concord's campus, all families are invited to attend CU's home opener in football as head coach Cody Edwards leads the Mountain Lions onto Callaghan Stadium's turf for the first time in 2025. All youth league participants, regardless of sport, are encouraged to wear their youth league jerseys for free admission. Bounce houses and other games will be set up adjacent to Callaghan Stadium.

September 28: Concord Men's and Women's Soccer Doubleheader (1pm/4pm) – Youth Day
Youth Day bleeds over into Sunday's Mountain East Conference soccer doubleheader. The Concord women's soccer team hosts MEC South Division rival West Virginia State at 1:00 p.m. while the men's soccer team welcomes Davis & Elkins in a rematch of last year's MEC Semifinals. All youth league participants will be recognized.

October 1: Concord vs. Fairmont State Women's Soccer (7pm) – Pink Night
All fans are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness as the Mountain Lions host Fairmont State in a rematch of last year's MEC Tournament. It will be the first night game in program history at Callaghan Stadium for the women's soccer program.

October 11: Concord vs. West Virginia State Football (2pm) – Homecoming
Join us for the premier event, not only for the athletic department, but for Concord's campus during the fall semester. A list of events prior to the football game can be found here.

October 14: Concord vs. Glenville State Volleyball (7pm) – Special Olympics Night
A separate event created by Mercer County Special Olympics and Concord Athletics will be set up in gym 2 of the Carter Center, beginning at 6:00 p.m. All Special Olympians attending will be recognized during the volleyball match.

October 25: Concord vs. West Virginia Wesleyan Football (2pm) – Oktoberfest on the Mountain/Faculty & Staff Appreciation
A newly-created promotion to enhance the gameday atmosphere at Callaghan Stadium. All faculty and staff of Concord University will be admitted free into the matchup with West Virginia Wesleyan. The day of appreciation will be in conjunction with Concord's version of Oktoberfest.

November 1: Concord vs. West Liberty Men's Soccer (1pm) – Community Costume Contest
Be sure to wear your Halloween costumes to Callaghan Stadium for candy and a costume judging contest. This event is open to all community members as well as Concord students.

November 8: Concord vs. Fairmont State Football (1pm) – Hometown Heroes
In the run-up to Veteran's Day, all active military, veterans, healthcare workers and first responders will be admitted free for the final home football game of the season, and all Hometown Heroes will be recognized during the game.
