PAWLEY'S ISLAND, S.C. – The Concord University men's golf team finished 15
th at the Pawley's Island Beach Bash hosted by Ohio Dominican Wednesday and Thursday.
The Mountain Lions tallied scores of 345 and 339 to shoot a combined score of 684.
CU's top performer was senior
Indiana Eades who shot rounds of 85 and 81 for a total of 166.
Freshman
Kelly Pimenov II fired off a total of 170 (86, 84). Two of his three birdies for the tournament came in the final stretch of the second round. Pimenov carded a two on the par-3, 146-yard 16
th while also birdying the par-4, 373-yard 18
th.
Senior
Jacob Chittaphong was one stroke back of Pimenov after rounds of 85 and 86. His best stretch came on the back nine Wednesday where he was at par or better in five holes over a six-hole stretch that included a three on the par-4, 392-yard 15
th.
Senior
Peyton Watts tallied rounds of 89 and 88 while freshman Jonah Wilson had a pair of 89s. Fellow freshman
Coltan Farrell had rounds of 92 and 99.
Wayne State (Mich.) had a two-round team score of 588 as it held of USC-Beaufort by one stroke and Gannon by two for the team title. WSU's Max Leppelmeier was the individual medalist with a first-round 68 and a second-round 71.
Concord returns to the links March 24-25 for the Mountain East Conference Spring Invite at Berry Hills Country Club in Charleston, West Virginia.
