ATHENS, W.Va. – Concord University head baseball coach
Drew Bailey has announced the program's schedule for the 2026 season.
The Mountain Lions are just over a month from opening the season as they start the campaign with a three-game set January 30-31 at Francis Marion. From there, Concord will play 13 straight games at home with weekend series against Ferrum (February 7-8), Shepherd (February 21-22) and Kutztown (February 28-March 1) along with a midweek contest against Mercer County rival Bluefield State (February 18).
The first full weekend of March sees the Mountain Lions travel to Millersville for a weekend set against the Marauders, March 7-8.
Mountain East Conference play begins the following weekend as CU plays 30 conference games—10 versus the MEC North and 20 more versus the MEC South. All MEC games are doubleheaders.
The first conference foe will be Frostburg State on the road March 14 followed by a visit to Fairmont State March 15. CU returns home to face Point Park March 21 followed by a non-conference twinbill versus Salem March 22. A busy month of March closes at West Liberty (March 28), at Wheeling (March 29) and at Emory & Henry (March 31).
All MEC South series are two-day, four-game series starting with Davis & Elkins on the road (April 3-4). The first of eight straight divisional home games begins when West Virginia Wesleyan April 11-12. West Virginia State comes to Anderson Field the following weekend. Emory & Henry also returns its trip to Athens April 14.
The final road series for Concord is April 25-26 at Charleston. The regular season closes with a split series versus Glenville State. CU hosts the Pioneers May 1 before traveling to GSU May 3.
SCHEDULE NOTES
-Francis Marion head coach Jeff Jefferson spent the 2013 and 2014 seasons as an assistant for the Mountain Lions, helping CU win the 2013 WVIAC conference championship.
-February 2026 will be the second time in five seasons that Concord hosts Kutztown. The teams also met in 2022 at Anderson with the Mountain Lions outscoring KU, 44-14, in a three-game sweep.
-CU took two of three games from Millersville last season when it was ranked 24
th nationally. It was the first series win over a nationally-ranked team for Concord in program history.
-Concord had to win two games against Glenville State on the final day of the regular season in 2025 to even qualify for the MEC Tournament as CU picked up 13-6 and 10-2 win.
