 MILESTONE MADNESS
Junior outside hitter Chloe Thompson is 97 kills away from 1,000 for her career. However, the Cool Ridge, West Virginia native is just two kills away from entering the top 10 in program history. Teammate and fellow junior outside hitter Meg Williams is fifth in program history with 1,048 kills. Junior setter Paige Richmond starts the week needing 22 assists to become the seventh player in program history with 1,800 assists. And last week, junior libero Allie Davis became the fifth player in program history with 1,500 career digs, now sitting at 1,523.

THE RACE FOR FIRST
The MEC South is still up for grabs with just four matches remaining in the regular season. CU is tied for second place with West Virginia Wesleyan, with both holding 7-4 conference records. Concord has the tiebreaker, but will face the Bobcats again this Tuesday. Charleston holds first place with an 8-3 record, and Concord will have their chance to even the series with the Golden Eagles this Friday at home.

CHANCE TO REBOUND
After losing back-to-back matches on the road, Concord has a big opportunity Tuesday night. The Mountain Lions travel to Buckhannon to face West Virginia Wesleyan. The last three meetings between these two squads have gone five sets. Earlier in the year, Concord took down the WV Wesleyan in a thriller at home. Williams led the team with 18 kills and 19 digs, narrowly missing a what would have been her first career 20-20 game. Thompson also finished with a double-double, ending the match with 14 kills and 18 digs. Last November, Thompson had a career-best 22 kills in a five-set win versus WVWC. Freshman middle hitter Addison Adkins threw in a career-best 14 kills in the win over the Bobcats earlier this year.

BLAST FROM THE PAST
In 2024, Concord notched one of its biggest wins in program history as the Mountain Lions defeated Charleston in a five-set thriller. It was the second win over the Golden Eagles in program history, joining the 2016 team. Williams ended the match with a double-double, collecting 15 kills and 16 digs. Davis picked up 17 digs. Richmond totaled 33 assists in the historic win.

SCOUTING THE WEST VIRGINIA WESLEYAN BOBCATS
West Virginia Wesleyan is having a stellar year WVWC is right with Concord in the Mountain East standings. The Bobcats enter their match against CU with a two-game win streak, defeating Charleston and Point Park. Middle hitter, Bhrooke Axe has played a significant part in the Bobcats' success. She is third in kills per set (3.33) and fourth in hitting percentage (.305).

SCOUTING THE CHARLESTON GOLDEN EAGLES
Charleston is shooting for its fifth consecutive 20-win season at 17-11, however, UC has been swept in two straight MEC competitions. The Golden Eagles were swept on the road at West Virginia Wesleyan and then at Wheeling Friday. Charleston bounced back with a non-conference win over Emory & Henry Saturday. UC has one of the premier setters in the conference in Abby Avila. She leads the conference with 8.84 assists per set.
