BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. – Sophomore defensive back Ar'Terrian Godfrey of the Concord University football team has been tabbed as the Mountain East Conference Special Teams Player of the Week, presented by The Health Plan, the league office announced Monday afternoon.

Godfrey, a native of Palatka, Florida, earns the honor after his standout performance in the third phase of the game Saturday afternoon in Concord's 56-34 win at Ferrum to wrap up the season.

Defensively, Godfrey had three tackles and an interception, his third of the year, from his free safety spot. On special teams, Godfrey came free twice to block two kicks in the game, one of which turned into a touchdown for the CU safety.

He blocked a third-quarter punt into the end zone, and then recovered the loose ball for Concord's second special teams' touchdown of the season. Godfrey also batted down a 41-yard Ferrum field goal attempt in the second quarter.

West Liberty had both the MEC Offensive, Hunter Patterson, and MEC Defensive, Bre'Andre Horsley, Players of the Week.
