DANIELS, W.Va. – The Concord University women's golf team concluded the first round of the Mountain East Conference Tournament in fifth place with the round wrapping up Monday at the Cobb Course at the Resort of Glade Springs.
Concord carded a score of 392. Charleston leads the field after a 322 Monday.
Freshman
Kendra Lugo put together a round of 88 which has her in 15
th. Lugo birdied the par-3, 171-yard third hole early in her round. In fact, three of the first four holes for Lugo were par or better.
Sophomore
Sara Matos Tamargo is in the top 20 after her 96 Monday. She shot 48 on both nines. Freshman
Reagan Friel carded a 102 which is 24
th in the field. Friel's best stretch were holes five through 11 where she shot +3.
Sophomore
Alexandria Denny shot 106 and is 27
th. She had a birdie, three on the par-4, 326-yard 14
th.
Charleston's Mari Filippa Larsen was one of three players to shoot under 80 as her 77 paces the field after day one.
