CHASING HISTORY
Concord is tracking down its best record since joining the Mountain East Conference in 2013. In 2014, CU tallied an 18-14 record which is their best overall mark since 2013. The best conference record amassed by the Mountain Lions happened just last year, when they went 9-6 in MEC play. This year's unit is making massive strides to rewrite the history books, as they currently hold a 15-2 overall record and a 5-1 conference record.
GETTING HER GOING
Junior outside hitter Meg Williams is red hot since entering conference play, tallying a double-double in each of the six MEC games Concord has played in. The Mountain Lions have a 5-1 record over that stretch. Williams leads the team with 3.03 kills per set and ranks second in digs per set with 2.89. Williams has notched double digit kills in 11 of 17 games and double digit digs in eight of 17 games.Â
BRICK WALL
Concord's block has continued to be a focal point for the team as the season grows on. Over the last two matches CU has tallied 19 blocks in the sweeps against Davis & Elkins and Glenville State. As a team, the Mountain Lions put up 2.27 blocks per set which ranks second in the MEC. Individually, the two starting middle hitters Jasmine Anderson (1.22) and
Addison Adkins (0.81) both rank top ten in the conference in blocks per set.
TAMING THE TIGERS
The Mountain Lions have scored ten straight victories over Salem dating back to 2006 and they lead the all-time series 24-3. Junior libero Allie Davis picked up 16 digs in both the 2023 and 2024 matchups between the two teams. Williams notched nine kills in each matchup to lead Concord to two 3-0 victories. In last year's contest, junior setter
Paige Richmond surpassed 1,000 career assists.Â
SCOUTING THE POINT PARK PIONEERS
It's been a rough season thus far for Point Park as PPU currently holds a 3-13 record. To start the season the Pioneers dropped the first five matches before winning their first match of the season against Roberts Wesleyan. The Pioneers have fared better in MEC play as they hold a 2-3 conference record with wins over Davis & Elkins and Frostburg State. They are led by junior right side Nicole Reasbeck who averages 3.17 kills per set, a mark that is fifth best in the conference.
SCOUTING THE SALEM TIGERS
Salem started the season on a five game win streak that saw them only drop one set in all of those matches combined. While not being an official member of the MEC, Salem has struggled against MEC conference teams putting forth a 1-5 record against those squads. However, they Tigres are just coming off a big five-set victory over Point Park. Senior outside hitters Marika Righi and
Valentina Poti fuel this Tiger offense averaging 3.41 and 2.76 kills per set respectively. Â
