Complete Release

ATHENS, W.Va. – Sophomore linebacker Ryker Brown of the Concord University football team has been selected to the College Sports Communicators' (CSC) Academic All-District Team that was released Tuesday afternoon.

Brown, a native of Peterstown, West Virginia, was named to the honor after his work both in the classroom and on the field this fall. As a criminology major, Brown carries a 3.66 GPA that does not factor in his work from the fall semester.

He appeared on the Mountain East Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll last year, and has been on the Concord's Dean's List three times since transferring from the University of Charleston.

Brown finished the 2024 season with 78 tackles, third most in the MEC, in being named All-MEC Second Team. He added eight tackles for loss and four pass break-ups.

To be named to the CSC Academic All-District Team, players must carry a 3.50 GPA in the classroom in at least sophomore status and played in 90 percent of games.

Along with Tuesday's announcement, it was released that Brown's credentials are good enough for him to advance to the CSC Academic All-American ballot, and the Academic All-Americans will be announced January 28.
